1891 Indian Head Cent made of tin?

Question: I was given an 1891 Indian Head cent, but it looks like it was made of only tin. It has the color of a dime. Is this an error coin or a fake or ??? Ever heard of it, I can not find any information at the usual sites.
My Answer: I suppose it could be an off metal error, but it is doubtful. Are you sure that your Indian Head Cent has not been spray painted or dipped in something to coat it?
That would be my first thought, however, I am not an expert in error coins. Here are a few suggestions that you might try to find your answer.
You can go to All Experts.com and ask your question there. This link will take you to the page of coin collecting experts available to answer questions ( All Experts - Coin Collecting ). Once you get there, read about the experts and pick the one that specializes in Indian Head cents or error coins.
A good photograph of your coin would be very helpful in helping you get an accurate reply.
You can also try asking your question in forums that specialize in coin collecting and get an opinion from several collectors all in one place. Again, you will need a good photograph for them to give an accurate assessment of your coin. You can do a search for coin collecting forums or bulletin boards, or you can try one of the links below.

I hope this helps,
