United States Silver Bullion Coins are modern US Silver Coins known as American Silver Eagles.

They have been minted in the United States since 1986 and each contains one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver.

American Silver Eagles have a face value of $1 and are legal tenderLegal Tender
Coins or currency which must be accepted in payment of debt
coins, however they are not intended to be used as a form of money.

They were introduced as a form of investment and they actually get their value from the silver they contain.

The beautiful design of the American Eagle Silver Dollar is based on the 1916 "Walking Liberty" half dollar designed by Adolph A. Weinman which is considered by many collectors to be one of the most beautiful of all United States coins.

The reverse of these Silver Eagle coins features an eagle with a shield, holding an olive branch in his right talon and arrows in his left designed by John Mercanti.

Another great feature of the American Eagle Silver dollar is the fact that its weight and purity are guaranteed by the United States Government making them the only silver coins allowed in an IRA.

When compared to other precious metals, the American Silver Eagle is the most affordable.

So, if you are looking to add a precious metal to your investment porfolio but you can't afford the high price of gold or platinum, the American Eagle Silver Dollar makes it possible for a person of average means to own a precious metal without hardship.

If you are interested in purchasing American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins, you can find them at many coin and precious metals dealers and brokerage houses.

To find an authorized dealer, check the list of bullion retailers at the United States Mint Website.

A proof version of the American Silver Eagle is also produced by the United States Mint especially for collectors. They can be purchased directly from the United States Mint.

These beautiful collectible versions of the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins are minted at West Point with the "W" mint mark and contain 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver.

My Recommendation!

Amazon makes a great e-reader called the Kindle Fire. They also make other e-readers, but I personally own a Kindle Fire and I love it!

You can also get a variety of Books about Coins for the e-readers.

It is a great way to take all of your coin books with you where ever you go.

I love my Kindle Fire ! I highly recommend them to everyone!

It is so nice to be able to check out information or statistics on any coin I happen to see at anytime I want to without carrying a car load of books everywhere I go. Now all I have to do is turn on my Kindle Fire and choose the book I want and refresh my memory about any coin or its worth.
